Courier struck an ideal balance between luxury and practicality for small
storekeepers and salesmen. It was restyled for the same year and looked
sleeker and more purposeful than its previous incarnation, plus it had
the new 272 ci (4.4-litre) Y-block V8 with 162 bhp (121 kW) to replace
the ageing Flathead. Years later the same vehicles offer the same practicality
even as customs, though they're not favoured as much as two-door sedans
because of their weight and heavy proportions. That didn't bother the
owner of this vehicle, who has changed it by adding Camaro front wishbone
suspension, a Ford 9-inch (229 mm) rear on leaf springs, and Chevy engine
with supercharger. Like many custom, the body has been fully smoothed
and uses a remote key fob for entry to the doors and rear tailgate. Inside
the rear is fitted with cnstom tweed upholstery.
